Partner Richard Coopey has provided comment in City AM on the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to deny Crystal Palace’s appeal against UEFA’s ruling to demote them to the Europa Conference League due to European multi-club ownership rules.

Commenting on the CAS’ decision and the next steps for the Premier League club, Richard noted: “Eagles fans will no doubt be disappointed that the shine of a Community Shield victory on Sunday is tarnished by the CAS decision today. Whilst there is a route of appeal from CAS to the Swiss Federal Tribunal, these appeals are very challenging.

“The appeals relate only to procedural and public policy issues, rather than there being a new review of the merits of the case, so Palace’s route back into the Europa League is a difficult one.”
