Chris Roberts comments on the UK government’s concerns around intelligence “blind spots”, in Global Investigations Review

Partner Chris Roberts has provided comment in Global Investigations Review on the UK government’s concerns about intelligence “blind spots” relating to adversaries’ use of spies-for-hire including the serious threats they pose to national security.

Highlighting concerns around the Met’s seeming inability to easily extract information from its own data, Chris said: “If what the Metropolitan Police say is correct, it seems incredible that the information provided to it is dealt with differently depending upon whether it is provided via the Anti-Terrorism Hotline or the online portal.

“One would presume it is paramount to make it as easy as possible for information to be provided to and stored in the same place. Likewise, it is concerning that the data is not recorded in such a way as to be easily searchable or navigable for intelligence monitoring purposes.”
