Grosvenor Law launches White Collar Crime and Investigations practice with new partner hire

We are pleased to today announce the launch of our White Collar Crime and Investigations team and the appointment of Chris Roberts as Partner to lead the practice.

Joining from Mayer Brown, Chris has over 15 years of experience successfully representing a broad range of individuals and companies, including publicly listed multinational firms, who have been subjected to internal, regulatory and criminal investigations.

He has particular expertise in handling matters involving multijurisdictional internal and external investigations, and his work further includes regulatory compliance advisory, global policy design and rationalisation, and implementing controls to mitigate legal, financial, and reputational risk.

Chris is experienced in conducting, managing and supervising complex and sensitive investigations and has advised clients in relation to major prosecutions brought by the DoJ, SFO and the FCA, as well as the NCA, the ICO and the CMA.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said, “I am delighted to be joining Grosvenor to launch its White Collar Crime and Investigations team, and am thoroughly looking forward to expanding the practice over the coming months. The firm has been moving from strength to strength in recent years, and I am excited to add another dimension to its already wide-ranging and robust client offering.”

Managing Partner Daniel Astaire added, “Chris’ appointment and the launch of the practice mark the latest step in this period of growth for the firm. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and further strengthens Grosvenor’s position as a leading disputes firm in the London legal market.”

Chris’ appointment, effective as of 1 January 2025, takes the firm’s total number of partners to nine.
